About The ARMANDO RUSINDO MISSION FOUNDATION (ARMF)
History of the Armando Rusindo Mission Foundation (ARMF)Growing a church from scratch is a challenging effort in the best of circumstances. The average salaries are $25-$35 per month. A large percentage of the Cuban people have unclean drinking water filled with bacteria. These conditions lead to horrible water related illnesses that are prevalent across the island.
As brother Joe Jarvis began to experience these conditions firsthand on his trips with Bishop Sam Gray in 2013, he felt God calling him to help this emerging church in Cuba. He recognized that the people were willing to look for ways to support themselves, their church, and community, but they desperately needed financial support and guidance. Joe saw the firsthand needs across the country as he visited the Moravian churches. From Havana to Guantanamo, Joe saw the poverty, and poor living conditions that our brothers and sisters in Cuba are faced with daily. He saw the determination, ingenuity and love of Christ that everyone at each village exhibited and knew he wanted to help. After much prayer and discussions with church leaders, Joe decided to set up the Armando Rusindo Mission Foundation. This foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization with all donations tax deductible under IRS regulations. The focus of the foundation is to work closely with our Moravian brothers and sisters in Cuba to identify critical needs, to raise the funds within the foundation to support those needs directly and to help them meet their goal of improving their everyday lives, spreading the word of God throughout their communities and becoming a self-sufficient member of the Moravian church. By working together, it is our vision to build better bridges and relationships between our two countries. |
Meet our New Executive Director
When the Armando Rusindo Mission Foundation was formed in July 2014, we could never have imagined the incredible journey that awaited us. What began as a calling to support our brothers and sisters in Cuba - and beyond- has grown into a vibrant, expanding mission fueled by your prayers, generosity, and unwavering partnership. With that growth comes the need for fresh vision, new ideas, and strengthened leadership.
After much prayer and thoughtful discernment, we are excited to share an important milestone for ARMF’s future. Following an extensive search, Cynthia Redwine has accepted the position of part-time Executive Director, beginning January 2, 2026. Cynthia brings a deep passion for missions, especially for the work ARMF is blessed to carry out in Cuba. She and her husband, Jeff, reside in Lewisville, North Carolina, where they co-founded Renewable Energy Design Group, and she currently serves as its Chief Financial Officer. Cynthia holds a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and a master’s degree from Wake Forest University. Her prior experience includes serving as Director of Environmental Health for the American Lung Association and Associate Director of the Peace Corps in Panama City, Panama. As Cynthia steps into this new role, we want to reassure our supporters that Joe Jarvis will continue to serve as President of the foundation. His commitment remains as strong as ever, and looks forward to working closely with Cynthia as she transitions into her position. This addition strengthens our leadership team - it does not replace his involvement or dedication. Thank you for your faithful prayers, support, and generosity over the years. The future is bright, and together, we will continue deepening our relationships with our friends and family in Cuba and beyond. ARMF Board MembersExecutive Board
