At the end of June, we received news from the church in Santayana, Camaguey that they are putting the finishing touches on a daycare center. They have renovated two exciting rooms of their church to accommodate a center that will provide daycare from Monday – Friday. Saturday and Sunday it will be used as a nursery setting. In addition it will be used to provide lunch for all the church members.
This is amazing news to all. This project was accomplished 100% on their own, using profits from their farm to cover expenses and church members contributed to labor. To see them moving so quickly to reach their goal of self-sustainability is nothing short of amazing!
Many thanks to all for your prayers and donations. Even though much is being accomplished, there is still much to do. The relationships built between our two groups have been wonderful.
